Welcome to San Antonio! Every year the city dresses itself in lights to celebrate the Holiday Season. The Riverwalk slips on thousands of lights and the parks dress up with 40' Christmas trees. We've tried to give you a taste of what you'll discover when you visit downtown SA this year, whether you're a local or coming for a visit.
The bad news is that it's near impossible to get good shots of the Riverwalk at night that convey the beauty of 100' cypress trees draped in 180,000 colorful, winking lights. But, we did the best we could and think they're worth seeing.
The good news is that we've not only presented the scenes in normal pictures, we've added two types of 3D images to enhance your viewing!
For those of you with a pair of the standard 3D glasses around, there's a Red-Green version of all the scenes. Images lose some of their color when viewed with the glasses, some more than others.
Remember: Left Right
If you don't have the glasses, don't worry, the best 3D images don't require glasses at all! And they don't lose any color! Below the enhanced picture is a set of stereo images just like the ViewMaster and stereoscopes of yore. If you've never viewed stereo images without a viewer, just practice crossing your eyes until the two images converge into a third image right in the center. It's really quite easy and, once you've gotten the hang of it, you'll be able to snap to it instantly. You'll even find you can look around a scene just as if you were viewing it normally.
So sit back, get your glasses if you have them, if not just enjoy the normal pictures and practice crossing your eyes.
Psst...it's easier than viewing those strange prints in the mall.
When you've finished looking at the lights, be sure to visit the many fine shops in SAMarketPlace for the finest in handcrafted gifts, art, salsas and other cool, Texas stuff! We hope you and yours have a wonderful and safe Holiday Season!
Don't forget SA's massive...
New Year's Eve Celebration
