Each year the Paseo del Rio (Riverwalk) Association sponsors a river parade of coffins and gouls and a street party with costume contest. Last year the costumes ranged from simple masks to outfits that looked like they belonged in a George Lucus film. Raoul had never seen such professionalism, being one of the "masks" himself, and was blown away. To give you a different perspective of a river parade, Raoul rode on one of the floats and took pictures of the crowd along the riverbank. So if you were there, take a look and see if you made the cut. Many photos were too dark and were unsalvagable. The pictures at the party were much better and if you were there in costume, you'll probably be in the pictures. After the street party, Raoul and friends moved on to the Rhino Room for more photos of costumed partiers, were you there?

The 1999 parade will be two nights, Saturday the 30th and Sunday the 31st, from 7-9pm. The street party after the parade will be Saturday night only, 6pm-Midnight. Significant cash prizes will be awarded for the top three costumes, so get out and PARTY! Raoul will be there for the party taking lots of pictures and looking for YOU!
