The Paseo del Rio Association loaded their barges (yep, they have their own fleet of boats) with coffins, ghosts, monsters and an assorted bevy of beautiful and talented ladies for a lighted night parade. After the parade the Association sponsored a street party and dance complete with a costume contest. You should see some of the entries...can you say Hollyweird pros?

To kick off their Grand Opening and relocation back to downtown, the Buckhorn Museum & Saloon stampeded (at a walk) 50 head of prime longhorns down Houston Street. Each spring Travis Park hosts a free two day/three night jazz fest. Not only is the music great, there's always tons of food and beverage to allow you to spend the entire day just enjoying the scene. You gotta get up early for this one since it starts before dawn and is over about the time most people are going to work. Each year, thousands pack the parking lot at Central Park Mall for a wide variety of free breakfast goodies and entertainment. It took two days of dawn to dusk work to get it moved, but they moved old #794 train engine from Maverick Park on Broadway where it'd been neglected for over 40 years to the new Sunset Station entertainment complex at the old train station.
